FiddleMania!
A Few Words!

Hi everyone. I’ve spent a lot of my time teaching and attending various camps. I have found that there are 2 types of camps. There are structured camps – generally where students are not allowed to breathe unless it has been approved first. All classes are completely planned ahead of time. There are also unstructured camps – students are left to their own devices, often learning tunes by ear, breezing through jam sessions without really attaining a knowledge of the music.

I was so put off by the lack of a camp that would merge the best of both worlds, that I finally created FiddleMania. I am pleased to offer plenty of reasonable structure – enough for a student to have plenty of direction in their learning and enough for an organized thought process. I am also thrilled to offer many opportunities to put this information to use: be it jamming with fellow students, making new performance groups, signing up for extra instruments, or even just hanging out with friends. The “best of both worlds” system is relatively new territory, and that is why FiddleMania has been so successful. I sincerely hope to see you there, and that once you are here, that you have a fantastic musical adventure!

Sincerely,
Ben Plotnick, Artistic Director.
