Keelan Albright began her music and dancing career at a young age. She began piano lessons at the age of 6 and continued until junior high school, where she started on the fiddle. Among her music she took Irish dance lessons, and excelled through competition levels and reached an international level of competition.
When she was 9, she began to dance with the Calgary Fiddlers, and tagged along to gigs around Calgary. Soon she was a full member of the group as an Irish dancer. Along with dancing, she quickly picked up various percussion instruments, such as the spoons.
Before the age of 15, Keelan had already travelled all over Canada and the United States, Korea, Scotland, England and Ireland. She has had the honour to be a representative of Alberta and Canada on many occasions, including in 2005 for Alberta's Centennial. For this she performed for Queen Elizabeth II, and opened (on the spoons non the less) for Ian Tyson and the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa.
Since then, Keelan has joined the Calgary Fiddlers as a fiddler as well. The group has taken up the majority of her time, but she still manages to keep up with Irish dance competitions, and her art work, another one of her passions. Although her plans for the future include pursuing a degree in sports psychology, she knows that music and dance will always be apart of her.
