January 22nd, 2009- Happy New Year everyone! I've just settled on dates for FiddleMania 2009 - August 16th - 21st! I'm just updating the website now.
Some interesting bits of news for 2009, Darcy Stamp will be joining our esteemed faculty! We're glad to have him on board!
I'm just about finished the new tunebooks! There will be a beginner/intermediate one, and an advanced one! I'll let you know when they're all done.
We're proud to introduce two new special programs this year!
1) "How to Teach Fiddle" - A program designed for professional classical violin teachers and performers.
2) "Improvising on Fiddle: Theory and Practice" - A program designed to give advanced fiddlers and violinists a look at improvising.

I'm working on dates for 2009's concert tour, as well! I'll fill you in once I know.
Registration for 2009 will open March 1st, 09.

September 13 (all done!)- Thanks for a great week everyone! FiddleMania 2008 just ended, and I'm proud to say I think it was the best one yet! We had 55 students, which was a big increase. Some really world class faculty members, a great wednesday night concert from local country act Pear, and, as always, a great student concert on Friday night. The new faces of Denis Dufresne, Scott Duncan and Ivonne Hernandez each added a lot to the faculty!
All the students were signing up for extra lessons, learning new instruments and jamming with their friends until quite late in the evenings! Last year everyone would file home at about 4 or so, while this year the halls were packed up with excited students until 5, even sometimes 6. It was great to see that level of motivation from the students. Just amazing.
Thanks to everyone who made it out! Pretty soon I'll get information up about 2009.
